Morgan Davis

CEO

Morgan Davis is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of MarketDial.

Before co-founding MarketDial, Morgan spent time in management consulting with The Boston Consulting Group where he served clients in Retail, Restaurant, and CPG. Morgan developed an expertise that enabled him to guide multiple business projects focused retail-sales benchmarking, quick-service restaurant rebranding, and consumer=packaged-goods process optimization.

Before BCG Morgan worked in venture capital with Kickstart Seed Fund where he served on multiple boards.

Morgan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Strategy from Brigham Young University.

Johnny Stoddard

Chief Data Scientist and Co-Founder

Johnny Stoddard is the co-founder and Chief Data Science Officer of MarketDial. Johnny loves the challenge of designing analytical solutions to help brick-and-mortar retailers resonate with customers.

Johnny is described by those who work with him as an insightful problem-solver who brings an infectious can-do spirit to any problem. He uses his expertise in data-science research and analysis to give business owners a competitive edge.

Previously, Johnny applied his predictive-modeling techniques for market optimization at McKinsey & Company and L.E.K. Consulting.

Johnny earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University and is completing a postgraduate degree in Predictive Analytics at Northwestern University.

Josh Baran

Chief Revenue Officer

Josh Baran is MarketDial’s Chief Revenue Officer who focuses on combining sales, marketing and client success to generate revenue. Josh’s unique insight into clients’ needs comes from 20 years of experience in retail analytics and business intelligence. His experience in the analytics space allows him to use MarketDial’s platform to quickly identify opportunities to drive client value. Josh knows clients are not just concerned with fixing problems but with accelerating growth. He is a hands-on executive who understands the art and science of customer decision-making as well as the synergies between analytics and data.

As a senior leader in retail, Josh’s prior roles included executive roles with retail companies such as the Home Shopping Network, Guitar Center, Jo-Ann Stores and Shopko.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of South Florida.

Joe Turner

Chief Technology Officer

Joe Turner is the Chief Technology Officer at MarketDial. He is driven to help clients turn technical and marketing challenges into profitable solutions. Joe’s expertise is focused on developing scalable, technological solutions that are not only innovative in design but also use cutting-edge technology. These combined solutions optimize the performance of the MarketDial platform to maximize client benefits.

For over a decade, Joe was the Lead Developer at Oakley Networks, a cyber-security and data-leakage-prevention systems firm. At Oakley Networks Joe managed large teams with multimillion-dollar budgets. At MarketDial, Joe is responsible for all technical design and architecture decisions. His technical underrstanding helps to continually enhance a solution that helps brick-and-mortar retailers create, design, and execute business initiatives.

Joe is a board member at Nonobox and holds multiple patents for enterprise software. He received a Master of Computer Science from the University of Utah.

Stan James

VP of Sales

Stan James is a career SaaS software sales executive who has extensive experience working with enterprise products and clients. As the Vice President of Sales, Stan is responsible for driving MarketDial’s global sales and revenue development. Stan focuses on growing the company’s enterprise, channel, and client bases.

Stan brings 18 years of successful sales experience, leading high-performing teams for high-profile tech companies such as comScore, InsideSales.com, True Fit, and Omniture (Adobe Systems).

Stan received a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Brigham Young University.

Sharon Choi

VP of Client Success

Sharon Choi is the Vice President of Client Success. Through customer feedback and research Sharon is able to create processes that meets customers’ individual needs. Sharon is a firm believer in using data analysis as a basis for business strategy and business improvements.

Sharon has 15 years of experience leading analytical functions with retailers such as PepBoys, Urban Outfitters, Guess, and Guitar Center. Her experience in business strategy, data-based analysis, CRM, customer loyalty, merchandise planning, and labor/staffing optimization have consistently contributed to steady revenue increases for the retail giants.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University.

Jeff Edwards

VP of Data Science

Jeff Edwards is the Vice President of Data Science and is committed to helping clients measure their business performance utilizing sophisticated statistical techniques. Jeff assists clients in creating a reliable, statistically robust test to assess business performance. Jeff’s models ensure that business initiatives with the greatest potential benefits are prioritized.

Prior to joining MarketDial, Jeff specialized in marketing and advertising analytics for both in-house and agency capacities. Jeff developed his analytical skills at companies such as Cisco, Hilton Worldwide, and LG Electronics.

Jeff’s mathematical models and analytical insights earned him a joint Forrester Groundswell Award for integrating customers through the use of social media on behalf of Ally Bank. Jeff has presented his innovative, analytical methodologies at numerous industry conferences. He also co-authored a white paper on marketing measurement frameworks.

Jeff received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Utah Valley University and a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.

Brian Coleman

VP of Engineering

Brian Coleman is the VP of Engineering at MarketDial. He enables the company’s engineers to grow both professionally and personally. This growth is achieved by creating a positive work environment removed from negative obstacles and distractions, as well as providing the engineers with tools and training opportunities.

With over 15 years of software engineering experience, Brian brings new, innovative ideas to better MarketDial’s software. Working in different industries from technology to health, Brian brings a passion and deep understanding of developing, designing, and maintain software. At these diverse size companies, he held different leadership positions where he provided training to other engineers about advance software engineering topics.

Brian studied computer science at the University of Utah, and found the best way for him to learn was by gaining real-world software engineering experience.

John Hatfield

Chief Architect

John Hatfield holds the position of Chief Architect and has expertise in designing scalable and secure internet applications and data systems. He has over 20 years of experience building technology solutions for a range of businesses within the financial, defense, and intelligence industries.

Prior to joining MarketDial, John held the title of Vice President and other senior engineering positions at TaskEasy, Goldman Sachs, and Raytheon Oakley Systems. As a member of the initial engineering team at TaskEasy, John helped develop a technological infrastructure that enabled growth from startup to performing over 1 million services nationwide. While at Goldman Sachs, John managed the modernization of account opening systems for GS Swiss Bank. He then managed a global engineering team responsible for all account-data systems within the private wealth division.

John has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and in Computer Science from the University of Utah.

Greg Osborne

General Counsel & Director of Ops

Greg Osborne serves the dual role of General Counsel and Director of Operations. Greg manages MarketDial’s legal affairs and ensures that the company is running smoothly and growing.

Before joining MarketDial, Greg worked at the University of Utah’s Office of General Counsel. He coordinated the University’s data-privacy initiative for the General Data Protection Regulation. Greg also directed the University’s response to Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 accommodations.

Greg also worked at the law firm of Ray Quinney and Nebeker where he successfully litigated cases ranging from trade-secret misappropriation to Clean Air Act violations. Greg clerked for Judge Tena Campbell at the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah and for Judge Frederic Voros at the Utah Court of Appeals. He was recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ by Mountain States Super Lawyers.

Greg graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in environmental studies and Spanish. He graduated cum laude from Duke University School of Law.
